THE WILD WEST OF THE MIDDLE EAST as read in the strange Biblical Book of Nehemiah.  ( This is brand new material, so newcomers are most welcome to join us!)  In our studies we encounter the newly arrived  pioneers who have come back from exile to their homeland of Israel to find a desolate and destroyed Jerusalem and an empty, neglected land.  They want to continue the work of Ezra -- they wish to fully complete the Temple and environs, to rebuild the ruins of Jerusalem, and to raise Jerusalem's walls.  But there is a nasty bunch of new foreign residents who are not happy at all to see the returnees and will do everything in their power to stop them.
